SIGC Signs MoU with UMBC, USA

Shrimati Indira Gandhi College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), USA, on 24 August 2026, marking a significant milestone in its international academic engagement. SIGC becomes the first institution in Tamil Nadu to establish this prestigious academic collaboration.

The partnership aims to strengthen collaborative research, teaching, international exchange, and student opportunities. The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof. Ramana Vinjamuri, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, UMBC, along with the leadership of SIGC. The collaboration opens new avenues for global academic networking, innovation, research, and women’s empowerment.
