Teachers’ Day Celebration

Shrimati Indira Gandhi College, Tiruchirappalli, celebrated Teachers’ Day on 03.09.2026 with a heartfelt tribute to its faculty, emphasising the enduring bond between teachers and students. Dr. K. Meena, Secretary, and Smt. S. Aparna, Director, graced the occasion as Chief Guests in the presence of Dr. P. Gajalakshmi, Principal. The celebration began with a Pushpanjali ceremony honouring Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. The Director highlighted the importance of lifelong learning, emotional intelligence, and compassionate education, while the Secretary emphasised the value of trust and personal connections in education.

A special ‘Honouring the Teachers’ segment saw the Director presenting saplings to her former professors, followed by students presenting saplings to their mentors as a symbol of gratitude and respect. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks and a special lunch for the faculty.
