360-degree education and empowerment of women requires strong quality processes and adherence controls across the functioning of the campus.

We understand that pursuit of quality is a continuous process, therefore we have an active Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to continuously observe, learn and improve in all aspects of education. This practice allows us to achieve holistic academic excellence.

We are nationally accredited at A grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Mission

To formulate, advocate, realize and assess quality benchmarks in every organ of the institution, in order to promote the performance year on year, to achieve the best quality standards as implicated by regulatory bodies and ranking frameworks and be adjudged as an exemplary institution for women education.

About IQAC

We take a very collaborative approach to quality. All students, professors and staff members equally participate in and contribute to enhancing the institute's quality.

The primary objectives of IQAC are

1. Develop a system for consious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution

2. Promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture.

Strategy

IQAC shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for

1. Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks;

2. The relevance and quality of academic and research programmes;

3. Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society;

4. Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning;

5. The credibility of evaluation procedures;

6. Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and proper allocation of support structure and services;

7. Sharing of research findings and networking with other institutions in India and abroad

Functions

1. Setting up quality benchmarks for various activities and achieving them

2. Train the faculty up to international standards and facilitate holistic environment for developing an integrated personality in students.

3. Receive feedback from stakeholders to correct deviations in quality performance and setbacks.

4. Inculcate quality in all domains by disseminating information, instilling quality procedures and practices and documentation of all activities.

5. Development of Management Information Systems for institution to record, report, analyze and amend limitations in performance.

6. Submission of AQAR in time every year.

The role of the coordinator of the IQAC is crucial in ensuring the effective functioning of all the members.

At SIGC, Ms. N. Vijayalakshmi heads the cell and supervises its various functions. She is a senior academician with over 2 decades of experience in institutional management.

She has sound knowledge of digital tools and documents and their usage in communication with other members of IQAC.
