MBA
Duration and Course Content
The full-time MBA programme is for two years (Four
semesters). A semester consists of a minimum of ninety teaching days or
450 contact hours. Six papers are covered in each semester. The first
two semesters are devoted for functional areas. In the third and fourth
semesters electives are offered. A wide range of electives under each
functional area is offered to the students. However, the offer of electives
will be dedicated by the faculty committee, keeping in view the demand
and the employment opportunities. More focus is on electives in the systems
area considering the employment potency for women.
Approach
We follow a dynamic approach in teaching the course.
Lectures are supplemented with case study analysis, workshops, seminars,
learning exercises, management games, personality development programmes,
mini projects in functional areas, industry visits and a summer project.
At the end of the second semester students are required
to undergo an in-plant training programme in any reputed organisation
for six to eight weeks. The project work will be coordinated by a faculty
guide and a co-guide (preferably) from the respective organisation. A
report has to be submitted to the University for evaluation.
The placement cell headed by a faculty assists students
in planning their career and in training them to get jobs after successful
completion of the course. Many of our alumni are well placed in Indian
and abroad.
The course fee payable by the candidate is Rs 50,000
per annum. The amount should be paid by a demand draft favouring SIGC-MBA
